True umbilical cord knot

Case report

The images below show a case of the true umbilical cord knot detected in a 22-week pregnancy. The fetus did not show any signs of congenital anomalies. The pregnancy was terminated by a C-section in 39 weeks (Apgar 9/10, 3600 g) and the prenatal finding of the true umbilical cord knot was confirmed.

Images 5, 6: The images show power Doppler scans of the true umbilical cord knot. The image 6 shows a normal spectral Doppler waveform of the umbilical artery at the level of the true umbilical cord knot, indicating the knot is still loose.
