Introduction
Alobar holoprosencephaly is a most severe form of holoprosencephaly characterized by the fused cerebral hemispheres, fused thalami and single primitive ventricle. It can be accompanied by midline facial abnormalities such as cyclopia and proboscis.
Case report
The following images present a case of alobar holoprosencephaly with proboscis and cyclopia. The following ultrasound findings were diagnosed during the ultrasound scan of the 29-year-old woman at 27-week of pregnancy.
Image 1,2 : Images show alobar holoprosencephaly.
Image 3,4 : Image 3 shows cyclopia, indicated by arrow; arrows on image 4 indicate proboscis.
Image 5,6 : Image 5 presents a 3D view of proboscis and image 6 of cyclopia.
Video 1,2 : Videos show 2D and 3D view of the fetal face with apparent midline facial abnormalities; proboscis and cyclopia.
Image 7 : Image shows the head of the neonate with midfacial abnormalities.
